Team texting for school sports · Live
Sideline
Parents RSVP, check the schedule and message the coach just by replying to a text.
Before
A school sports program ran on group chats and emails nobody read. Coaches spent the week chasing RSVPs and answering "what time is the game?"
What I built
- Everything by text. Parents RSVP, check the schedule and message the coach just by replying. No app to download.
- Reminders that stop when you answer. Families who already replied are never asked again.
- Schedule changes reach everyone. The calendar syncs from Google Calendar, and a coach can move a game by text and every family hears about it.
- Forms, signed online. Permission forms and waivers, with deadlines tied to each team's first practice.
- Built for kids' safety. Athletes never receive texts; every message goes to a parent, guardian or coach.
The parent just texted back
No app, no login. Their reply is an ordinary text message, and it lands here in the coach's thread.
One family at a time
Private notes go to one family, not the whole team chat. The awkward conversation stays between the coach and the parent.
The result
Live at sidelinesms.com, with texting switched on. Coaches run rosters, games and paperwork from one dashboard.
